Beautifil II Starter Kit giomer composite by Shofu is the second generation Giomer — a light-cure fluoride releasing direct aesthetic restorative material developed using S-PRG (Surface Pre-Reacted Glass) fillers. It provides superior aesthetics with excellent shade match and enhanced handling characteristics while maintaining strength and durability. The Starter Kit also includes Beautibond, a self-etch single bottle bonding system with unique dual adhesive monomer technology.

On the surface of the tooth restored with Beautifil II, a material film layer is formed by saliva that minimizes plaque adhesion and inhibits bacterial colonisation.

Directions for Use

1. Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the tooth surface to remove plaque.
2. Shade Selection: Select the appropriate shade using a shade guide while the tooth is still moist.
3. Cavity Preparation: Prepare the cavity following the conventional method.
4. Isolation: Isolate with a rubber dam.
5. Pulp Protection: If the pulp is exposed or the affected area is close to the pulp, cap with calcium hydroxide.
6. Bonding: Apply Beautibond dentin adhesive following the manufacturer’s instructions (30-second application).
7. Placement: Dispense adequate amount of Beautifil II onto a paper pad from the syringe. Apply into the cavity using a suitable instrument and create the desired shape.
8. Light-Curing: Light-cure using a dental curing unit — 20 seconds with halogen, 10 seconds with LED.
9. Finishing & Polishing: After light-curing, contour, finish, and polish the restoration following the conventional method.
