Why Strontium-Based?

All GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer contains strontium glass, which provides good radiopacity and snap-set characteristics. Strontium mimics calcium in the formation of strontium hydroxyapatite and strontium fluoroapatite, contributing to internal remineralization within the tooth structure. Research has shown that a strontium-based glass ionomer placed in a calcium-containing environment (saliva) results in calcium ions diffusing into the glass ionomer surface, achieving a surface strengthening effect over time.

Consistent, Predictable Seal

Gold Label 9 displays a glossy surface after mixing, indicating sufficient free polyacrylic acid is available to begin the ion exchange process. The subsequent movement of ions between dentin, enamel, and the glass ionomer creates an ion exchange zone which chemically fuses them together — resulting in a consistent, predictable, and long-lasting seal.

Directions for Use

Dispensing: Standard ratio is 3.4g/1.0g (1 level scoop powder : 1 drop liquid). Lightly tap bottle before dispensing. Close bottles tightly after use.
Mixing: Divide powder into 2 equal parts. Mix first portion with all liquid for 10 seconds. Incorporate remaining portion and mix for 15–20 seconds.
Conditioning: Apply GC Cavity Conditioner (10 sec) or GC Dentin Conditioner (20 sec). Rinse and blot dry — do not desiccate.
Placement: Working time is 2 minutes at 23°C. Transfer cement to preparation. Avoid air bubbles.
Finishing: Final finishing at 6 minutes after start of mix. Apply G-Coat Plus and light cure 20 seconds.
